So what is a 'Masterplan'? It's not some machiavellian plot to defeat James Bond, it's the detailed drawings which we can use to build your dream garden. I do two versions, a 'Pro Masterplan' for professional landscapers or builders to follow, or a 'DIY Masterplan' for homeowners to follow.
Let me break it down. Both types will include an overview drawing of the whole site, which shows the location of each feature or area, and how they relate to one another.

And this breaks down further to specific things such as how to lay out the garden with measurements and levels, such as this one below. Living in this part of Yorkshire, there's not much more than a postage stamp of flat land, so this is important for visualising the build.

The main difference when supplying plans for either professionals or DIY clients is the level of detail and support I give in developing the build.
For a professional build I will refer to standard building specifications for things like the type of concrete used and the methods of laying paving for example. For a DIY builder, these references don't mean anything, so I provide details on how the same quality can be achieved. If I know a client is attempting a self-build (which I wholeheartedly commend, there's nothing like getting properly stuck in!) I'll check what experience and skills they have, so I can pitch to the right level of detail. Where appropriate, I can refer to detailed guides and videos, especially if a product has an online guide which is increasingly common.
